• Still considered the best beach near Boston, Revere Beach is also the oldest public beach in the nation founded in 1896. Besides fun in the sun, Revere Beach also hosts the annual Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival in July which attracts thousands from near and far.

• Consider the best beach in all of Massachusetts, Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea is so named because of the sound of the sand beneath your feet. Due to the high quartz content of the sand, the "singing" ranges from a low squeak to a high-pitched squeal.

• On Cape Cod, Coast Guard Beach in Eastham, MA usually makes the Top Ten list of best beaches in the nation. The beach is where the Mayflower first sighted land on November 9, 1620.
