Go light-seeing in Temple Square.

• The famous holiday lights at Temple Square in Salt Lake City are only turned on for the Christmas season, but are actually up for six months out of the year. Stringing the lights begins in August, and it takes two months after the holidays to take them all down.

• Named by Travel & Leisure Magazine as the best holiday light show in Utah, Christmas in Color in Provo features acres of tunnels, giant candy canes, and snowmen lit by more than 1.5 million lights synchronized to holiday music.

• The likelihood of a white Christmas in Utah? Pretty good actually, especially up north. According to National Weather Service snow accumulation records, 54 percent of the time there's at least one inch of snow on the ground at Christmas.
