DID YOU KNOW? North Carolina Christmas fun facts
Welcome to Christmas at the Speedway.
• It's one of America’s largest holiday light shows. Speedway Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway features more than 3 million lights in 800 displays with a drive along the famous NASCAR motor racing track. The thrills continue at the infield Christmas Village with live actors and animals at Bethlehem Village, a petting zoo, a visit to Santa’s Workshop, and more.
• America's largest home, the 250-room Biltmore mansion in Asheville is big on the holidays with more than 55 decorated Christmas trees, 25,000 ornaments, and thousands of lights that welcome visitors to their annual open house.
• The North Carolina Fraser fir Christmas tree is by far the planet's most in-demand and shipped to every state in the U.S. - as well as Mexico, Canada, and worldwide. North Carolina harvests 5 million of the popular trees annually, making it one of the top five Christmas tree producing states in the USA.
